MESSAGE FROM MUSTANG

Well, oh well... This crazy year comes to an end and Mustang would like to take the opportunity to summarise everything that has happened in 2020. This year will forever be remembered in history, unfortunately not for the good. What had to be one of the band's best years, turned out to be almost a complete nightmare. It started with the joining of the new band members, drummer Ante Martinović and second guitarist Mate Zelenika, and the great gig at the MC Neretva Winter Moto Party. Our bassist Boris joined one more band, the friendly band Nešto između and at the same time their drummer Ante joined Mustang as well, so the two bands started sharing the rythm section. Marin continued playing with his other band, Kultni Arpa Band. In February we friendly parted ways with Mate, and continued as a quartet. Then another great gig at Duradžik in Mostar, and then - SHOCK. Coronavirus pandemy happened and we had to go to quarantine. All of the band's planned shows (and boy there was hell a lot of them; festivals, gigs...) were cancelled. But we continued working on a new album. Suddenly, in July, a surprise call from the Mostar Blues Festival management came, to play on this year's edition of festival. It was one special experience; we played in front of the cameras and technicians, with the live broadcast to the MC Pavarotti's stuff, due to pandemic circumstances. The whole event was recorded by BHRT and aired later. The concert at Herceg Novi Comic Festival in Montenegro, which we agreed on much earlier, was still in question, due to unpredictable pandemic situation in various regions. Until the almost last day, we weren't sure if we gonna play or not; we also had to have negative covid tests. Luckily, we were all covid-free, and the festival could also have been organised, respecting some measures, of course (social-distancing, masks etc.). There was a lot of the audience, and tv stuff as well. Hosts were incredible, as well as the audience; we really enjoyed it, and gave our very best. It was our first show in front of the audience since this craziness started. At the end, our first Montenegrian show was one unforgettable experience. Soon after that, we established collaboration with multi-talented musician Mario Zovko, who will take the vocal duties on the upcoming album, and parted ways with singer Vladan Đukanović. The chemistry with Mario was there from the very beggining, and the series of rehearsals and work on new songs followed. We recorded the first, 'pandemic' video for the song "On with the Fight" with Mario on vocals. The next album, which will be called 'Unchain the Force', will have 12 songs. We chose the artwork for the album which will be done by amazing artist Gagi Bakija. At the same time all the band members are busy with another projects; Ante and Boris with Nešto Između, Marin with Kultni Arpa Band, and Mario with his solo projects. We can't wait this pandemy to stop, and to fully start playing in front of the audience, without a fear. Please respect the recommendations, be responsible, take care for each other, and be patient for a little bit more; this will soon be over.
